Dave Butler is the founder of M.B. Associates and currently provides key strategic insights to assist companies achieve critical strategic objectives. He has worked with multiple private equity funds identifying and performing strategic consulting and key due diligence. In addition, he advises private companies looking to maximize value and transitioning to the next level, either through M&A or identifying additional capital resources.
Dave was formerly the Senior Vice President of L-3 Communications Corporation – Business Operations. During his tenure he was responsible for all business operations related to running a $15 billion corporation. Key aspects included identifying operational risks and opportunities for the corporation, business integration, and lead all M&A efforts with a strategic focus on identifying / acquiring businesses to fill gaps within the company’s business portfolio by enhancing technology and acquiring synergistic products. Mr. Butler led M&A activities for 115 acquisitions and selected divestitures to help grow the company from $700 million to $15 billion over a 12 year period. Established due diligence procedures for all aspects of the transaction to quickly and accurately determine financial performance and growth profile, as well as, identifying both business and legal risks to accurately value a potential target and bound future risks to the corporation. Prior to joining L-3, Mr. Butler was CFO of Lockheed Martin Fairchild Division (formerly Loral Fairchild), a position he also held at Loral. Prior to that he held various controller and financial analyst positions within the Loral Corporation which he joined in 1981. Overall, Mr. Butler brings over 30 years of extensive leadership and experience in the defense and aerospace markets with extensive leadership skills in financial and business operations areas. |
Linda Maxwell is currently a senior partner with MB Associates LLC advising clients on improving operational performance and business development strategies focusing on organic growth to increase out-year revenue, as well as modifying cost structures to increase margin profiles. She is currently on the Advisory Board for MIKEL.
Previously, Ms. Maxwell was an investment banker focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the aerospace and defense industry with a combined twenty years of experience at Houlihan Lokey, Inc (“Houlihan Lokey”) and Jefferies Financial Group (“Jefferies”). During her tenure, she was instrumental in building both practices, utilizing her technical and financial background to expand the client base and execute transactions for both large private equity firms and private/public companies requiring specialized knowledge of the aerospace and defense industry. While at Houlihan Lokey, she represented many private equity firms and family offices including: H.I.G. Capital, J.F, Lehman & Company, Inverness Graham, Levine Leichtman Capital Partners and Huntsman Family Investments in the sale of their portfolio companies. She also represented many private and public companies in the sales process. During her career at Jefferies, Ms. Maxwell was involved with many complex divestitures utilizing her technical and financial background to successfully complete transactions that had many internal interconnections within the organization thereby requiring multiple legal agreements post transaction to maintain the supply chain. Her clients included; Boeing Company, Raytheon Technologies Corporation, Lockheed Martin Corporation, General Dynamics Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Eaton Corporation and L-3Harris Technologies, Inc. (including the predecessor companies). Prior to investment banking, Linda spent approximately 15 years with Hughes Aircraft Company, a predecessor company to Raytheon Technologies Corporation where she held advancing levels of responsibility within the engineering, program management and marketing organizations. Her last position at Raytheon, prior to leaving for an investment banking career, was the Director of Business Development for all of Army Land Combat in the Washington DC office, interfacing with various government officials (both uniformed and civilian) inside and outside the Pentagon. Before that position, she was based in El Segundo California at the Electro-Optical Systems Division. |
